A new apartment complex is under construction on Richland Avenue and will be leasing out apartments in October for fall 2009.
The Summit at Coates Run is taking its shape as foundations and frames of the buildings are constructed. Meanwhile, the property management company, HHHunt, will begin leasing Oct. 5. All of the apartments will be finished by August or September 2009, said Janet Riddlebarger, vice president of property management for HHHunt.
We are slowly getting the word out
but hopefully in the next week we are going to go full blast Riddlebarger said.
The apartment complex, which has 856 beds and 239 apartments, also features a bathroom for each bedroom, a washer and dryer for each unit, a heated pool, a fitness center, an internet caf+ but it will be competitive with the neighborhood
she said. It will be a good deal for students.
Rick Kirk, the project leader of Athens Hallmark Housing, approached HHHunt in July to manage the property, Riddlebarger said.-
Riddlebarger said. I'm glad he contacted us to come and manage it for him.
The complex currently has a temporary leasing station at 5 N. Court St. There will be a permanent leasing station built in the complex.
While many Athens residents have expressed concerns about traffic and ground slippage because of the complex, project manager Greg Kopinsky said he does not foresee any problems.
There are no issues on site and we have geotechnical engineers to help
Kopinsky said. There are no concerns about ground slippage.
This is HHHunt's first project in Ohio. They typically manage properties in Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina and North Carolina.
We want to be a good neighbor in Athens so hopefully we will have a good partnership with everyone there
Riddlebarger said.
