Fun Halloween food

As fun as Halloween is in Athens, one thing I miss every year is baking Halloween desserts with my family. The trick-or-treating and pillowcases of candy ended years ago, but the smell of brownies still filled my house. Now, a Halloween without caramel apples, decorated cupcakes and my grandma's ghost-shaped sugar cookies is just scary.

The Antlers

This Brooklyn band busted onto the indie scene this summer, but hasn't yet reached the critical love of bands like Cymbals Eat Guitars or The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. With their poetic lyrics and simple sound, The Antlers manage to take a very basic idea and turn it into an intimate, layered piece of music. The songs Two and Wake are standouts from their newest record, Hospice, a concept album about caring for a terminally-ill patient - but the entire piece is worth listening to the whole way through at least a few times.

Friends

Though this show has been off the air for years now, it is still something I watch religiously thanks to all 10 seasons being on DVD. The inappropriate jokes by Chandler and consistent divorces by Ross keep me laughing. Comedy, love and everyday life stressors makes this show perfect and force people to fall in love with the characters. With finals around the corner, I highly suggest watching these seasons when studying gets to be a little too much.
