Athens residents searching for the purrfect companion should head to
East State Street tomorrow afternoon.
The Athens County Humane Society is holding an adoption fair for cats and kittens from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Market on State's main hallway.
Kittens are priced at $75 and cats over six months are $50.
We are hoping to hold an adoption fair every other month
said Arianna Rinaldi-Eichenberg, a volunteer for the ACHS.
This winter, the ACHS did not see an increase in strays but there are still animals without homes in the Athens area, said Rinaldi-Eichenberg.
Spring is kitten season so we see an increase of adoptable animals at this time added Rinaldi-Eichenberg.
The ACHS also offers spaying and neutering services for cats and dogs with prices that vary according to species and weight, according to the Athens County Humane Society Web site (www.athenshumane.petfinder.com).
