Sexual offense reports continue to plague OU

A female student reported she was a victim of gross sexual imposition Easter weekend by an unknown male, the city’s fifth reported sexual offense in about three weeks.

The student told Athens Police officers that an unknown male groped her at a party at 12 1/2 S. Court St. April 23 at 11:30 p.m., according to a police report.

Athens Police officers are still investigating the report.

On April 29, a 19-year-old woman reported she was a victim of sexual imposition by two males near the intersection of Mill and Stewart streets.  The woman told police she escaped by striking one of the suspects in the crotch with her knee.

Both men fled the scene.

On April 15, a woman reported being sexually assaulted at 10 p.m. by two black males in her Riverpark Towers apartment.

A few hours later, another woman reported a sexual assault during a party at the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity house, 50 E. State St.

At 4 a.m., a woman reported she was held at knifepoint in the parking lot of Christ the King Church, 75 Stewart St. She reported the black male pulled out a large knife and told her to walk to a small outbuilding, where he raped her.

All cases are still under investigation.
