Been There Drank That: Court Street Coffee pleases all with a variety of options

When you walk in, the first thing you notice is that the shop is decorated like it's straight out of Better Homes & Gardens magazine. There are a bunch of coffee-themed wall hangings, fall decorations and a random Halloween Beware sign in front of a bamboo plant. The second thing you notice is that if you wanted to do homework and sit at a spacious table, you are probably out of luck. The barely populated shop has one big table and a few tables that are only big enough for one person. Let's face reality - it just isn't socially acceptable to sit down at a large table with someone you don't know.

Court Street Coffee doesn't really seem to put a whole lot of emphasis on selling coffee, even though theirs is a pretty delicious, bold and spicy blend. However, there is a huge emphasis on their specialty drinks. This is with good reason because their specialty drinks are delicious.

Now, during the beautiful autumn season, the hot - or iced or blended - drink to get is the Frosted Pumpkin. Talk about a delicious blend of pumpkin, chai and other fall goodness. Starbucks has their pumpkin spice latte, but I would be willing to argue that this is better. I sat in Court Street Coffee for about 45 minutes and three people ordered the Frosted Pumpkin.

Another great aspect of Court Street Coffee is the variety on the menu. It is divided into three sections: espresso, frozen and over ice. Served alongside the drinks are bagels, scones, yogurt, fruit cups, wraps, muffins and other pastries. The only thing that doesn't seem to fit into the magazine-esque decor is the random rack of clothes and wigs. I think they are for sale. They have tags.

Overall, even though Court Street Coffee might have the least creative name ever, its drinks are a win. And in the end, that's all that matters.
