The Pita Pit, 8 N. Court St., reopened Friday after being closed for nearly three weeks while the restaurant underwent changes in management.
The Uptown Pita Pit has been privately owned since it opened almost nine years ago, but a joint decision between the restaurant's owner and corporate office transferred management from the franchisee to the corporate team.
The transition went smoothly
and I am really happy with it said Scott Kennedy, corporate manager at the Uptown Pita Pit.
No changes were made to the restaurant during the transition, Kennedy said, adding that former and new employees were hired when the restaurant reopened.
But the management change is not permanent, said Chris Edwards, the restaurant's corporate store manager.
The new arrangement could last for as little as 30 days or as long as 24 months, he said.
