While Ohio University's annual Halloween party has garnered national attention, many of the OU students argue that the street festivals that happen Spring Quarter overshadow any other Athens event.
From the well-established street parties such as Palmerfest, to the epic music festival Five Fest, there are more than seven festivals planned for the 10 weeks of Spring Quarter.
OU is always a fun place to be
but Spring Quarter is sort of the cherry on top said Dan Stevanski a senior. The festivals sort of epitomize why you want to go here.
The festivals are so popular that corporate sponsors have taken notice: companies such as the energy drink Four and the tobacco company Skoal sponsored festivals last year.
The university has also tried to accommodate party hosts: the office of Off-Campus Living works in conjunction with Legal Services to put together an information packet for those hosting parties

a community-living assistant for Palmer and Mill streets.
The living assistants will distribute fest kits at an upcoming meeting
Brown said
adding that the date will be announced closer to the time of the actual event.
The kits will include fliers detailing city regulations
wristbands
trashbags and possibly orange fencing
she said.
Streets that plan to host festivals can contact their community living assistants or the office of Off-Campus Living
