He had the first rap single to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He was a pioneer of sampling in rap songs and has sold millions and millions of records. His pompadour rivaled Conan O'Brien's in terms of ridiculousness. His name evoked groans and sheepish smiles from former fans. His name is Rob Van Winkle. But most people know him as Vanilla Ice.

So how do Ohio University students feel about this Pop deity's Sold-Out performance tonight at Baker University Center Theatre?

Magnolia Electric Co. costs one-third as much (to book) and is 10 times better

said Clay Flaherty, a junior journalism and history major, in reference to the Southeast Engine, Magnolia Electric Co. and Shipwreck concert in Baker University Center Theatre tonight.

A lot of people are going to be disappointed said Jason Wright, a senior history and geography major. They're going to expect early 90s.

It's totally dope that Vanilla Ice made it to Appalachia to rock our socks off Dan Boyer, a sophomore telecommunications major, said.

If you really want to see some folks light up the stage and wax the chumps like a candle
