Rock concert's proceeds go to cancer research

In order to raise money for cancer research, Stephen Pirovolos, a member of the band The Epsilon Project, rallied other people in the Athens music scene to play for a good cause.

Rock for a Cure is a concert featuring The Epsilon Project, Tempo Tantrums, Arthur Killroad and The Vice Versas at 6:30 tonight in the Ohio University Baker Center Theater.

Pirovolos, an OU junior studying political science, was diagnosed with cancer about a year ago. After missing almost two quarters and undergoing chemotherapy, he is now in remission.

I know how difficult that is for a person

Pirovolos said. I wanted to do what I could.

Pirovolos networked with other bands to coordinate the event and collaborated with the Department of Residence Life. The suggested $5 donations will benefit the American Cancer Society and Livestrong, the Lance Armstrong Foundation, he said. 3
