Buffalo is a young team

but they gave it their all and we just picked up our defense and played hard middle blocker Melissa Griffin said.

Ohio (11-2 overall, 3-0 MAC) had three players with double-figure kills, including Griffin, who tallied a career-high 16 kills.

Melissa had a very good game coach Geoff Carlston said. It was great to see her step up and do well in an important match.

Also leading the Bobcats' attack were outside hitters Julia Winkfield and Ashley Elliott with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.

Libero Michaele Blackburn had 18 digs and outside hitter Katie Smith had three service aces, tying a career-high. Right side Jenna Gaughran recorded a season-high four assisted blocks. Setter Briana Adamovsky had 45 assists, which moved her career assist total to more than 3,900.

We didn't play our greatest match but we did what we needed to do to come out on top

Michaele Blackburn said.

The Bobcats take their winning steak on the road Wednesday in MAC play against Kent State. The match will start at 7 p.m.
