Political satirist Lee Camp continued on his two-day tour of Ohio University today at the Occupy OhioU movement.
Camp, who contributed his humor to the Occupy Wall Street and Occupy D.C. movements, decided to add his jokes to the Occupy OhioU cause as well.
“I originally came here for the Mel Helitzer memorial keynote speech, but once I heard about occupy OU, I wanted to perform here to support them,” Camp said.
Camp said he originally became involved with the Occupy movement because he believed that the top 1 percent in the U.S. are extracting the resources and wealth of America while lacking an allegiance to the people they are supposed to be serving.
He added that he had been inspired by the movement.
“This movement gives me more hope that this country can turn around than I’ve ever seen," he said.
