Your Turn: 'Post' should stop its wordy justifications, excuses

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but this is ridiculous; worthy of ridicule was the choice to use a photo with that man's face clearly recognizable. The man's desperate cry for help while in such a state of mind, however, is not ridiculous. My college newspaper ' nay, the editorial staff at The Post ' found it necessary to make sure that anyone who picked up Monday's edition would know that they felt it was the right thing to do by publishing such a photo and they are OK with that

because among other things this man's actions prompted major police intervention and the shutdown of Baker for more than three hours. A justifiable publication of one photo, when just, should never take over 1,600 words to argue. If it was the right thing to do, the editorial staff could have conveyed that to us, the readers, with fewer excuses and far fewer words. I have always thought a picture to be worth more than a thousand words and this decision by The Post has apparently proved my suspicion right.
