Tailback credits offensive line for success

Ohio tailback Kalvin McRae went over 100 yards for the fourth time this season and the 10th time in his career this past weekend, recording 17 carries for 109 yards and two touchdowns during Ohio's 42-7 romp over Buffalo, Saturday at Peden Stadium.

McRae has now rushed for 100 yards in eight of the Bobcats' last 12 Mid-American Conference match ups.

The offensive line does a great job

McRae said after the game against the Bulls. Coach (Kevin) Lightner does a great job preparing those guys the tight ends and receivers too. They do a great job blocking. I feel fortunate to be behind a group of guys like that.

The Bobcats (5-3, 3-1 MAC) no doubt feel fortunate to have McRae back over 100 yards ' Ohio is 8-2 when McRae passes the century mark G he is going to make plays for you

Ohio coach Frank Solich said Saturday. He's really running hard and getting a lot of yards after contact. It's probably not really noticeable unless you really zero in on him and what he is really accomplishing on some of those runs because he is getting hit and bouncing off and getting yards after contact.

McRae's best performance this season came against Western Michigan on Oct. 7, when he scampered for 120 yards and two touchdowns, with 98 yards and another score on five receptions for Ohio.Third and Morsillo

Fullback Mitch Morsillo is emerging as the go-to guy for the Bobcats in third and short situations this season.

The redshirt freshman has 11 carries for 24 yards and two receptions for 11 yards on the year. But most importantly, nine of his 13 touches this season have gone for Ohio first downs, including his last five.Cohen the destroyer

Starting defensive tackle Landen Cohen paced the Bobcats defensive line with five tackles ' one solo and four assisted ' on the day. A comfortable lead in the second half allowed Ohio to rotate 11 players onto its defensive line against Buffalo.

Cohen now has 24 tackles, 11 solo and 13 assisted, this season.

We're just going one game at a time and concentrating every week ' technique

Cohen said after the game. If we can be technically sound in any situation

I feel like we can win every game.3-peat

For the second straight week and third time this season Ohio kicker Matt Lasher has earned the MAC East Division Special Teams Player of the Week Award.

Lasher went 6-for-6 in his PATs in Saturday's game and helped pin the Bulls back to an average starting field position of their own 16-yard line with his seven kickoffs and three punts. One of Lasher's punts placed Buffalo back at its own 1-yard line.
