With the change to semesters, Ohio University students now have the opportunity to join Athens for the city’s yuletide festivities and win hundreds of dollars in the process.
The Athens Uptown Business Association is hosting a holiday decorating contest for all uptown businesses, rentals, fraternities, and sororities –– with a $400 prize for first place and a $200 prize for second place.
Decorations–– ranging from window displays to exterior decorations –– may be on the inside or outside of buildings, but should be visible from the street.
Uptown business patrons can vote between now and Dec. 19 by picking up ballots from the Santa House.
Winners will be determined by a popular vote combined with judging made by the Holiday Planning Committee.
