The Ohio University Board of Trustees reaffirmed its confidence in OU President Roderick McDavis after the completion of its annual performance evaluation of the president.
In a letter written to McDavis, which focused primarily on McDavis' publicly articulated goals
the Board expressed their ongoing confidence in McDavis' leadership.
Staying consistent with the 3 percent salary increase fund set aside for all university employees for the 2007 fiscal year, McDavis will receive a 3 percent salary increase effective July 1, 2006, according to the letter.
The letter also mentions that many positive comments emerged from the evaluation process in regards to McDavis' personal and professional skill set his strong inter-personal skills and his genuine and enthusiastic commitment to Ohio University.
The end of the letter concludes by addressing the upcoming challenges the university faces involving several security breaches, which exposed thousands of former and current OU students' Social Security numbers, and rebuilding academic integrity in light of the plagiarism investigation in the Russ College of Engineering.
The Board's Executive Committee conducted a 360 Degree performance evaluation, which set a new standard in the presidential performance evaluation. Representatives from the five OU senates, vice presidents, deans, representatives of departmental chairs and school directors were all a part of the evaluation.
