Court issues warrant for no-show at hearing

A warrant was issued for a Nelsonville man charged with corrupting a minor with drugs after he failed to appear in court yesterday.

Terry Schwab, 54, was expected to appear in court yesterday for a preliminary hearing on one count of corrupting another with drugs and two counts of felony complicity.

Schwab was arrested on April 1 with Michelle Fidell, 44. Fidell allegedly enabled her 17-year-old daughter to engage in trafficking drugs. Schwab allegedly provided the 17-year-old female with 146 oxycodone tablets, according to court documents.

Schwab was arraigned in Athens County Municipal Court April 4 and his bond was posted. The warrant was issued after he failed to appear for his court date.

Corrupting another with drugs is a second-degree felony. One of Schwab’s complicity charges is a third-degree felony and the other is a first-degree misdemeanor.

Schwab could spend up to 13 years and six months in prison and pay up to $26,000 if convicted of all charges, according to the Ohio Revised Code.

Fidell was charged with corrupting another with drugs and trafficking in drugs, according to court documents.

She could spend up to 13 years in prison and pay up to $25,000 if convicted of both charges, according to the Ohio Revised Code.
