It's that time of year when movie trailers are plentiful and people attend movies more often because the weather isn't nice enough to be outside. It's like being a kid in a candy store with all of the magnificent options. I have so many favorite movie trailers that it's difficult to even narrow them down, but this is as close as it gets:
Zombieland is so enticing because I really love Abigail Breslin and I think she's a really great actress - especially considering her age and her cue, yet geeky, looks. Furthermore, it's October, and I feel it's necessary to get pumped up for Halloween with zombies and other creatures - plus, Zombieland's trailer just makes it look creepily hilarious.
Dylan Walsh is a great motivation to see The Stepfather, a remake of the 1987 classic; in the trailer he is convincing, it seems scary. Having watched him in Nip/Tuck as Dr. Sean McNamara, who is generally a good guy - maybe a little obsessed with beauty and sex - I can't wait to see him be a crazy sociopath.
Where the Wild Things Are - need I say more? Every time the clip comes on television, I stop whatever I'm doing to watch it. The song in the background makes me feel like skipping or flying a balloon off into the sun each time I see it. I can't even put into words how excited I am.
I'm starting to think Oprah can do anything, especially make me bawl my eyes out with the trailer for Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, which she is presenting along with Tyler Perry. Each time I watch that trailer, I lose it in the scene where Precious says love doesn't have anything for her. Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire is already a 2009 Sundance Film Festival winner.
This may make me a stereotypical girl, but the trailer for New Moon already has me bitten. Having been a fan of the series since high school, it's a thrill for me to see how they transfer the pages to film, even though it never holds a candle to the books.
Though it doesn't come out until March 2010, I am already itching to see Alice in Wonderland, directed by Tim Burton. Not only does Johnny Depp freak me out as the Mad Hatter, but Burton has such a distinct take on everything, and it looks so eccentric and vivid that I squirm with excitement when I think about it - plus it's in 3-D!
At this rate, I think I should just start saving money to afford what seems like a weekly addiction to the movie theatre this fall and winter.
