A Glouster man accused of murdering his father last month was sentenced to prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to charges in four other cases.
Paul J. Roberts, 41, enforced a plea agreement and pleaded guilty to one count of identity fraud in one case, one count of identity fraud and one count of forgery in another, one count of aggravated possession of drugs and one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle.
Aside from grand theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, all of Paul J. Roberts‘ charges are felonies of the fifth degree.
Judge L. Alan Goldsberry sentenced him to 18 months in prison.
Each of the above incidents trace back to 2009, according to a news release from Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn’s office.
The younger Roberts is better-known for the alleged aggravated murder of his father, Paul E. Roberts, who died at 63.
The elder Roberts was found dead in a well underneath the porch of his Glouster home Oct. 21 when the Glouster Police Department, along with Blackburn’s office and the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, among others, arrived at the residence to investigate a case of vandalism.
