OU names executive director for Center for International Business Education and Development

Ohio University has named John "Mike" Geringer as the new executive director of the Center for International Business Education and Development and as the new O’Bleness professor of International strategy on Thursday.

Geringer’s new role at the CIBED is to oversee several different programs that will help further opportunities for students and faculty, according to a news release.

"The College of Business is at an exciting crossroads with its commitment to provide students with international education and internship opportunities, its support of the faculty and its commitment to internationalizing the curriculum,” Geringer said in the release.

Geringer is internationally recognized for his work with strategic management and extensive knowledge of different business ventures as well as publishing 27 books and papers. He is also an award-winning researcher on business.

The CIBED oversees all international programs within the College of Business and extends opportunities for students to go beyond a traditional classroom setting to embody the quote “To transcending classrooms to transforming lives.”

Dean Hugh Sherman, said the college looks forward to Geringer's new position as executive director.

“We are confident that he will provide strong and innovative leadership for the Center for International Business Education and Development,” Sherman said in the release.
