It is estimated that the 10,676 registered U.S. hospitals produce nearly 6,600 tons of waste per day to the very environment in which we live and breathe, reaping the hazards it generates to our health. Health care facilities need to practice what they preach. As health care costs rise, the trend for hospitals to implement environmentally conscious practices are increasing due to the tremendous benefits it has in saving money. As competition for business increases between health care facilities, a growing number are striving to differentiate themselves by seeking awards and recognition.-
