Ohio University President Roderick McDavis decided to let the cat out of the bag a little early Monday.
McDavis leaked his 2012 annual report via email to students, parents, faculty and alumni.
The report includes the “OU Vision” in striving to be the nation’s best learning community where students realize their promise, faculty advance knowledge, staff achieve excellence, and alumni become global leaders.
It also includes various accomplishments the university has made, such as raising more than $300 million annually for student scholarships and establishing an investment partnership with Ohio State University to create Ohio jobs.
“Literacy programs, community health services and facilitating economic development and entrepreneurship by fostering start-up businesses are just a few of the ways Ohio University is expanding beyond campus classrooms and making a lasting impact on the lives of many across the region, state and world,” the report said.
In the email McDavis thanked recipients for their commitment to advancing the promise of an OU education.
“Every member of our extended academic community plays an important role in making Ohio University great; our collective achievements are the result of a vibrant, welcoming educational environment empowered by dedication, innovation, and collaboration,” McDavis said. “We are very proud of the work in which our university community is engaged on our six campuses and around the world.”
