Popular Halloween costume predictions

With Halloween right around the corner, everyone is wondering the yearly question: what’s going to be popular? Whether people want to do something trendy or be unique, here are some costumes that will probably appear more than once.

Spirit Halloween released its top costume trends this season, and it seems like pop culture is winning this year. One of the top shows with costumes this season is “Off Campus,” with Allie’s jumpsuit and Hannah’s bunny outfit. There will also be some hockey players dressed like Graham from the show.

In the realm of hockey, the sport on television has blown up this year, with “Off Campus” and “Heated Rivalry” controlling the media for quite some time. If people are going to see Graham from “Off Campus,” they are also going to see Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov from “Heated Rivalry.”

The animated film “Toy Story 5” was also released this year, and its costumes are being sold. Both kids and adults can participate in this trend, with children dressing up as their favorite toys. A “Toy Story” group costume is never a bad idea, and a Buzz and Jessie couples costume is adorable. To be a little unique, people may also see Woody and Bo Peep couples.

Unsurprisingly, “K-Pop Demon Hunters” is still as popular a costume pick as it was last year.

“The Odyssey” has sparked some Greek god and hero outfits. Calypso and Medusa* are recognizable and easy-to-find costumes, which means they are good for last-minute additions.

There are always some celebrity costumes. Olivia Rodrigo releasing an album and music video in an iconic outfit makes her a top contender for people to dress up as her this fall. Zara Larson has also lately gotten back into the music conversation, as her eccentric outfits make her hard to miss.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “Avengers: Doomsday” coming out in the same year means big things for superhero costumes. These heroes are popular picks every year, but with those two big movies, there will likely be more of them. Supergirl might make some appearances, although her costume is more traditional than Doctor Doom’s.

Fantasy Costumes wrote that villains are becoming as, if not more, popular than superheroes. It is likely that people will see either more villains or more superhero and villain couples costumes.

Personally, I think with how popular “Invincible" has gotten over the years, people will see some characters from the show. There are so many great and iconic characters to choose from; the main character even changes his main outfit. There is a good chance we will be seeing "Invincible" with Atom Eve or Omni-Man.

While there are some specific costumes that are no-brainers, a theme for the year is nostalgia. People are not specifically trying to be original, just trying to think of things everyone else will know and appreciate, like a costume from a TV show that ran in 2000. The yellow outfit from “Clueless” would be a great pick in this category.

Whether people are trying to make a good group costume or find something nobody else is going to wear, Halloween is a good time. People should try to look their best, stay comfortable and be safe always. Only time will tell what the real winners of Halloween really are.
