Since your background is strictly football-orientated, I'm not surprised that you made the difficult decision to eliminate men's track. With a stroke of a pen you are dissolving a program that has been the source of pride for generations of Bobcats.
While you're at it why don't you just eliminate the cross-country program too? No decent distance runner is going to commit to Ohio without a track team.
Also, perhaps in terms that you will understand, what is Frank Solich going to tell the prized football recruit that runs a 4.3-40 that wants to run track too? Well
you can compete with the club team ... they have a lot of fun.
Congratulations on making the tough decisions to comply with Title IX. Your legacy will be the athletic director that effectively killed Ohio men's sports. Now, stop sending me those post cards begging for money ... I can no longer identify with the athletics mission at Ohio University.
