Ohio (15-10 overall, 9-5 Mid-American Conference) will be hosting Bowling Green (15-12 overall, 7-8 MAC) on Wednesday. The Bobcats are coming off a heartbreaking loss to Akron last week in double overtime. Junior Bailey Tabeling led with 25 points, her season high. Freshman ReRe Jennings also had a good scoring night, scoring her career-high 19 points.
Akron had a historic night shooting the ball, making a school record of 20 shots from behind the arc in a wild win for the Zips that saw them come back after being down 13 points in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, the Falcons are coming off a big 61-52 rivalry win against Toledo in the Battle of I-75 on Saturday. Junior Paige Kohler led with 17 points, and sophomore Lauren Gerken was just behind her with 14.
When the two faced each other earlier in the season, Ohio prevailed over the Falcons 82-57. Sophomore Bella Ranallo scored her career-high 26 points, and Ky’Aira Miller led the Falcons with just 10 points.

Bowling Green Notes
In his first year with the Falcons, head coach Fred Chmiel led his team to the Women’s National Invitation Tournament, tying for fourth in the MAC. In his second year, the Falcons tied for fifth in the MAC.
Before coaching at Bowling Green, he coached at South Carolina, where he helped lead the Gamecocks to an NCAA tournament berth each year he was there. In the 2016-17 and 2021-22 seasons, they won the NCAA championship.
Last year, Johnea Donahue was named to the MAC’s All-Freshman Team and to the MAC All-Defensive Team, leading the entire conference in steals. This year, as a sophomore, she has been named the MAC Player of the Week twice. She averages 11.4 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and shoots about 75% from the free-throw line.
In her freshman year, Paige Kohler led all MAC freshmen in scoring, assists and free-throw percentage and was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team. As a sophomore, she earned All-MAC Honorable Mention and Academic All-District Team. This year, she has recorded the first triple-double in school history and made the Preseason All-MAC First Team. She leads the team in scoring and shoots 37% from the field and 32% from the 3-point line.
