An Ohio University senior is in fair condition after he was found severely bleeding without a shirt or coat in a driveway Sunday morning.
Gregory Peters, 24, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, was found bleeding in the driveway of 11 1/2 S. High St. by a male resident of the house. Peters had a severe laceration on his left arm
according to an Athens Police Department news release.
A broken window was found on the east side of the High Street residence. It appears Peters punched the window, causing the injury to his arm, according to the release.
Athens police arrived at 8:10 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call from Southeast Ohio Emergency Medical Services. Peters, who was not wearing a shirt or coat, had stopped bleeding by the time police arrived, according to the release.
Gregory was intoxicated and unable to give any information except his first name according to the report.
Police are unsure how long Gregory was outside, Athens Police Chief Richard Mayer said.
(EMS) couldn't even get an IV in him Mayer said.
EMS transported Peters to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for hypothermia and hypovolemia from blood loss. After he was stabilized, Peters was transferred to Grant Medical Center to treat the injury to his arm, according to the release.
It's a credit to O'Bleness that they can take someone in his condition to be stabilized enough to transfer
Mayer said.
