Jesse Jackson, civil rights leader, two-time presidential candidate and founder and president of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, will speak at Ohio University at noon today in the Baker University Center Ballroom.
In the spirit of President Lynden B. Johnson’s 1964 War on Poverty, which brought the president to OU for a similar presentation, Jackson will speak out against poverty and propose the creation of a White House Commission on Poverty, Malnutrition and Human Need.
Jackson spoke at OU in 1998 and again at 2004. The slideshow above contains scans from The Post's previous coverage of his visits.
