Outside of Baker University Center, students set up a table and gathered signatures to petition the university from playing “Blurred Lines” in public spaces on campus.
It wasn’t a legal petition, but designed to raise student awareness and gain support.
In one hour on Monday, 43 students signed the petition.
“We want the administration to know that we’re serious, the more support and signatures we get from students, the more possible that’s going to be,” said Landon Cohen studying English.
The students had not yet talked to administrators about their concerns.
“It’s really out of respect for rape survivors, it can be harmful for them to hear and it just doesn’t need to be played around campus. I wrote the letter to The Post last week and now the song is no longer played by Marching 110, it’s all about getting support,” said Allie Erwin, senior studying political science.
