Police arrested 98 people on 139 charges Saturday night as thousands flocked to Athens for the annual Halloween celebration.
Although the Athens Police Department press release described this year's crowd as smaller and mellower
32 more people were arrested this year than in 2003, an event which APD Chief Rick Mayer had described as far and away the worse event to date.
As far as being too much trouble it was standard. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary last night that's for sure
APD Lt. Anthony Fish said. I don't know if more of an emphasis was placed on making arrests this year.
