Athens County League of Women Voters will sponsor a speaker and discussion about Ohio election reform at 7 tonight at the Athens Community Center.
Peg Rosenfield will discuss ways to increase participation in elections and make the voting process more secure, said Lois Whealey, co-convener of the town hall meeting.
Rosenfield has lobbied for election reform with state legislators during her 35 years with the league, Whealey said.
She is one of the most informed laypersons in the League
Whealey said.
The League of Women Voters of Ohio created town meetings last year on a $250,000 grant, which will be distributed over two years, from The Joyce Foundation, said a representative from the foundation.
The first town meeting was in Athens County in September, Whealey said. 17
