In today's popular music, the influx of trendy indie pop was sweet at first but soon became sickeningly annoying. However, one such band, The Kooks, is a group that I can still manage to easily stomach.
An England-based band, The Kooks were spawned out of the music school they all went to in Brighton, so you know that they know their stuff. Their really only full LP, Inside In/Inside Out is delectable (man I must be hungry, I'm using a lot of food-associated adjectives today).
Some songs are light and airy, others have more of a pop rock edge and others come together for an interesting combination, including my personal favorite track, Ooh La, which I still cannot get out of my head with its catchy chorus.-
