You know how you know it's election time in Athens? A lot of annoying, automated phone calls. It needs to stop.
It is done by both parties here and it is intrusive and unwanted. Unfortunately, because they are automated, you cannot tell the person on the other end of the line to take your name off the list.
I remember calling both parties' local headquarters and telling them to stop it during the last election. I knew who I was voting for and what issues I was supporting. I didn't need numerous phone calls to wake my kids from their naps, clog up my answering machine or interrupt our meals. But, alas, that did not work and with a new election season, it began anew.
I hope that both political parties realize how annoying this is before the next election. It does nothing to make me want to vote for a candidate; if anything, it angers me. An angry voter is not one someone should want deciding their political future.
