Brendan Sano was named the starting quarterback for the Alexander game Friday night following Thursday's practice.
The decision came after Sano stepped in last week against Watkins Memorial High School, with Treyce Albin out with a concussion. Sano's performance in that game earned him his second start this season.
"We feel that the team performed very well under Brendan's leadership," coach Ryan Adams said. "We have a need to put some speed out there some place on the field and I think that overall, with a little time and some different things that we're doing scheme wise, I think it's gonna make us a better football team as a whole down the line."
Adams did not say Sano was the starter for the rest of the season and the decision on who to start will be made week-by-week.
For Albin, he will most likely be shifted to a wide receiver and get some reps on defense as well. Adams also said, Sano will only play defense "as needed."
