Since their first meeting in January 2004, the current members of the Athens City Council passed more than 100 ordinances; some as steps forward on projects that have been in the works for years and some dealing with issues new to the city.
(Council members) have been willing to take on some long-term
difficult issues said Bill Bias, Athens City Council president. These projects have taken literally close to two years to do but some lasting
positive effects for the community will come out
