There once was a woman named Susan
Whose job was made mostly for schmoozin'.
She convinced the masses
To vote for the asses
And they never did much losin'.
---
Prosecutor: the post she desired
Campaigning, she never did tire
But Warren was there
And she party chair
The voters did naught but deny her.
---
Warren wouldn't bury the hatchet
Her image, he was determined to crack it
He called up Yost
And they made a toast
To the end of Gwinn's long-running racket.
---
But fret not about dearest Suze
Her name kept its place in the news
For a voter, five bucks
As she lined up her ducks
Students getting more money for booze.
---
The scandal was not to end there
'Twas a longer, more drawn-out affair
They accused her of stealing
And wheeling and dealing
Until they ran right out of hot air.
---
The party stood firmly behind her
As others lined up to malign her
The judge set them right,
Ending the fight
She left with no felony shiner.
---
Her image, though, wasn't as fine:
Her party could face steep decline.
The charges that stuck
Left her in the muck
And Susan? She chose to resign.
---
So what can we learn from this mess?
Be grateful: You could have much less
Don't covet the job of another
(Or take thousands of dollars from your brother)
It's unlikely to end in success.
