Ohio University’s College of Health Sciences and Professions received a $500,000 gift Monday.
OU alumnus Frank Stevens has donated the money to the college’s nutrition, nursing and public health programs as part of the university’s Promise Lives Campaign, according to a news release.
In July, the Promise Lives Campaign had raised $406 million toward its $450 million goal, according to a news release.
Stevens is a member of the Ohio University Foundation’s Board of Trustees. He has headed the college’s dean advisory council and Promise Lives Campaign, according to the news release.
“As a 1974 graduate of Ohio University (University College), I believe that the College of Health Sciences and Professions will be one of the key programs that will prepare undergraduates and graduate students and inspire them to meet the challenges ahead for our health care system,” Stevens said in a May lecture at OU, according to the news release.
Stevens’ donation will fund many college scholarships and other programs.
