Whining about textbook costs reaches an all-time high at the start of every quarter. We all glance over our syllabi and sigh as we read the multiple assigned reading titles.
Only this quarter, mine's a sigh of relief - not only do I already have the books, but I saved bundles.
I remember rushing to the bookstore right after syllabus day as a freshman, just a step ahead of my fellow classmates. After grabbing a couple of texts totaling probably at least $100 from the shelves, we lined up single-file to fork over the cash. xt>It's sad
really how controlled we are by that system. Even worse is selling the books back - no matter what the book's condition they give you a standard buyback fee
which hardly covers half of what you paid for it... only to mark it up again and selling it to next quarter's students a week later.
