Ohio’s record stays at .500 as they split another weekend tournament.
Another weekend, another split.
After spending this weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the First Pitch Classic Ohio returned to Athens winning two out of the four games it played.
Ohio showed strong offensive efforts against Quinnipiac whom it got two wins against this weekend.
Ohio Athletics did not make coach Jodi Hermanek or the Bobcats available to The Post for comment.
Friday morning the Bobcats faced Quinnipiac for the first game of the weekend tournament.
All cylinders were clicking for Ohio (4-4) as it propelled itself to the lead scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning. In fact, the only inning Ohio did not score in was the second. At the end of five innings, the Bobcats would win with a score of 9-1.
Leanna Bachman, a sophomore, pitched a solid game going four innings and allowing only one earned run.
The momentum for the last game would not carry over to the next game of the day, though.

With hosting team UNC-Charlotte’s ace on the mound, Ohio could only manage five hits and scoring two runs.
Lexi Betancourt lived up to her top 50 ranking by the Fastpitch News as she went the distance pitching all five innings and striking out four.
Betancourt was not the only reason for the Bobcats’ struggles in this game.
The 49ers offense quickly scored five runs in the first inning and then swiftly added another eight an inning later. After adding three more runs throughout the rest of the game, UNC-Charlotte would win 15-2.
Offense for the Bobcats would not be a problem in the game against Army, but even having enough offense isn’t enough for a victory occasionally.
Early on Saturday, the Bobcats established a six run on over the Black Knights after only three innings of play. After tacking on another run, the Bobcats led 7-1 by the fourth inning.
Army had a comeback in its mind, though. The Black Knights began an offensive surge as they scored seven runs on five hits to take the lead. Ohio was not able to regain the lead and it lost with a final score of 9-8.
The final game of the Classic would be a better game for Ohio as they beat Quinnipiac for the second time of the weekend winning 15-5. Ohio totaled 16 hits with Sloan Walker, Amanda Dalton and Adrienne Gebele all getting three hits apiece.
Overall, the Bobcats showed improvement offensively excluding the outlier against UNC-Charlotte.
