It has been reported that the Ohio state lawmakers are about to remove the funding for the Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation.
I hope that Ohioans will listen to my heartfelt out-of-state thoughts based on the following, as I've fought tobacco for nearly 22 years as a non-paid volunteer and 42 days as a paid bureaucrat Tobacco Prevention Specialist (TPS).
Regretfully, it has been very obvious to me that the avalanche of anti-tobacco money since 1998 has created a giant snowball of political-payback jobs for family and friends with a passion for pay and perks.
Several years ago after creating the Web domain www.CheapestCigarettesOnEarth.com, a health professional in Kentucky who had lost her job called me seeking employment. This ex-bureaucrat wrongfully thought my Cheapest Cig site was a tobacco marketing business.
My recent 42 days as a TPS ended when my state supervisor told me as I was resigning, Mike
you have wings and we have put you in a cage. What does this bird in a cage comment say for those in their comfortable cages sucking on tobacco-funded-green-worms, while singing the tune I Care about You?
