The Sept. 11 terrorist attacks changed the landscape of New York, and the reverberations for security, businesses and attitudes are still felt seven years after the attack in Athens.
Security has tightened in the Athens County Courthouse since Sept. 11, said C. David Warren, Athens County prosecutor.
Training for officers has intensified so they know what to look for in order to protect elected officials and the citizens who visit the courthouse
