Explosions rock Boston Marathon

Update 6:10 p.m.:

The FBI has classified the explosions at the Boston Marathon as a terrorist attack, according to CNN.


Update 5:30 p.m.:

At least 90 people have been reported injured in the Boston Marathon explosions, according to The Boston Globe.


Update 5:05 p.m.:

There was a third explosion at the JFK Library in Boston. A total of 45 people have been injured, according to CNN.

"We are not certain if these incidents are related," Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said in a news conference.


Update 4:25 p.m.:

There were two more explosive devices found at the Boston Marathon; they are currently being dismantled, according to the Associated Press.


Update 4:05 p.m.:

Two people died and at least 22 people were injured in the explosions, according to CNN.


Update 4:03 p.m.:

Officials have heightened security in Washington, D.C. and New York City in case the explosions weren't restricted to Boston, according to CNN.


Update 3:47 p.m.:

Leon tweeted, "Our group is safe. We are in hotel lockdown nearby and cell phones are out. Prayers to everyone outside."


Update 3:45 p.m.:

A former Ohio University track student athlete is reported "okay with no injuries" after two explosion at the Boston Marathon.

Craig Leon, who graduated in 2007, placed 10th overall and third among Americans. His coach Clay Calkins made the confirmation.

CNN reported that four people have been hospitalized after the explosions.


Two explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon injured dozens of people and damaged surrounding buildings, according to a 

CNN 

report.

Police are investigating the cause of the explosions.
