An unidentified man broke the front window of a local restaurant early Tuesday morning with estimated damage at $200.
At 2:20 a.m. at Big Mamma’s Burritos, 10 S. Court St., employees saw the man, visibly drunk, trying to keep his friends from going into the door. He then hit and cracked the window himself and fled, owner Quinn Schaller said.
“We have had quite a few things broken due to drunk people horsing around,” Schaller said.
At 2:45 a.m. shortly after the man fled, Athens Police Department officers arrived at the scene. They searched the area and assessed the damage, according to an APD news release.
Employees described the man as white, 5 foot 6 inches, and wearing a black shirt and black basketball shorts.
