**Potential Spoiler Alert**
Stephenie Meyer fans are sure to rejoice at the bittersweet ending of the Twilight series with the release of Breaking Dawn.
The 12:01 a.m. Aug. 2 release was celebrated on Aug. 1 at more than 900 Border's and Waldenbooks locations and more than 600 Barnes & Noble locations. Border's made estimates confirming sales of more than a quarter of a million copies on the first day, making it second in first-day sales behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Twilight, the movie based on the first book, was set to be released Dec. 12. After the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was moved to July 2009, Summit Entertainment decided to take advantage of the open time by moving up the Twilight release to Nov. 21.
Breaking Dawn is the fourth and final release in Meyer's Twilight saga.-
