Sandra Inman transferred to Athens Behavioral Healthcare following court order

About three weeks after spending time in a hospital for jumping from the second tier of her female housing unit at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, Sandra Inman was court ordered to be transferred to a separate institution yesterday.

Inman was transferred to Athens Behavioral Healthcare yesterday, according to a news release.

Lieutenant James Conrath could not comment on whether the transfer was related to the incident in which Inman was hospitalized.

“It came from the court; it was just an order for us,” Conrath said.

Conrath estimated Inman would partake in a 20-day evaluation at the healthcare center.

“She’ll probably be back here at some point,” he added.

In May, Inman pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity for the kidnapping and eventual death of her daughter-in-law, Summer Inman.

Sandra Inman allegedly attempted to commit suicide after jumping off the second tier in her female housing unit in early June and was transported to Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville for treatment. She was eventually released back into the custody of the jail, according to a previous Post article.

In March, Summer Inman of Logan was found dead in a septic tank. While Summer Inman’s estranged husband and father-in-law pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse. Sandra Inman’s charges were not presented because of her insanity plea.
