A southpaw-inclined thief struck the post office at 5 W. Stimson Ave. this past weekend when seven left-sided mirrors were stolen from postal vehicles parked in the parking lot.
Double mirrors from the left side of seven long-life vehicles were stolen, said Kathy Lucas, spokeswoman for the postal district.
Long-life vehicles are the standard postal vehicles seen on the street, she added.
The seven mirrors are valued at $450, according to the police report.
Service was not disrupted on Monday. The Athens office was able to shuffle some other long-life vehicles around
Lucas said.
The vandalism was minor and replacement mirrors were ordered from Columbus, Lucas said.
No suspects are known, according to the report.
The police officer who filed the report was not available at press time.
