Candidate forums are an excellent way for voters to learn about candidates for elected office. This spring, there will be three forums: Feb. 16 for county engineers; Feb. 21 for county commissioner; and Feb. 28 for 15th Congressional District. They all begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Athens Public Library and are presented by the library and the Athens County League of Women Voters.
A forum is not a debate. It is an opportunity to learn the candidates’ view on various issues of concern in our community. Questions will be asked by media representatives as well as written questions from the audience.
We will have larger (than last time) sheets of paper on which to write questions (or you may bring them already written).
