Men's Golf: Bobcats continue play in Puerto Rican tournament.

The men's golf team will head south once again to compete in the Palmas Del Mar Intercollegiate for their second event in 2010.

Palmas Del Mar Country Club, in Humaco, Puerto Rico, is the hosting site for the three-day event, which starts today.

Hosted by St. John's University, the Palmas Del Mar will be played on the 7117-yard Flamboyan Championship Course, which is considered to be one of the most challenging courses in all of Puerto Rico according to worldgolf.com.

The Bobcats are coming off of their last event, the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, which saw them place ninth out of the 17 teams that participated.

Coach Bob Cooley was unavailable for comment about Monday's opening round, but today's forecast could possibly present the same problems for the Bobcats that the Wexford presented, when the Bobcats weren't able to finish play until late Monday.

The forecast calls for scattered showers for the early part of the day.

All season Cooley has stressed the importance of consistent play and better putting as the keys for a good Bobcats finish.

While it has been two years since the Bobcats have competed in the event, all four of the top finishers for the Bobcats, in 2008, are still current members of the team.

Last time Ohio finished 11th overall, posting a 67-over 93. Chuck Nettles finished highest for the Bobcats with a 14-over 230.
