Clearly, the powers that be at Ohio University just don't get it. Just days after faculty voted overwhelmingly ' 80 percent of votes cast '-
is the best ' rather, the only ' way that an evaluation process would work.
As Browning notes in his open letter, This is an important time in the life of OU. As we prepare to graduate yet another class of outstanding young people we also continue to work toward refining our internal processes and improving our institution.
This is an important time. However, the trustees are neglecting the voice of the very group that has prepared the class of outstanding young people that Browning is heralding.
Things in Athens are not all right, and this latest decision will not help in the quest to improve this institution. It will only further divide the people who are the backbone of this university (faculty, staff and students) from Cutler Hall and the trustees.
