Bobcat spirit was on full display at ChessaField on Friday. Located in the stands, were athletes from the swimming &diving team, the softball team, the football team, the track & field team, and the staffs for both the men's and women's basketball teams were there aswell.
Overheard: A lot of people don't understandsoccer and they are just here to support their friends
which is great.
Amy Lower commenting on her fellowstudent-athletes coming out to support her and her team. She went on to say:
The first couple yearsI was here we really only had parents and the away team had more fans than wedid screaming. It's really nice to have the support; it gives us that extraenergy at the end of the game when we're down 2-1 just to push yourself harder. All the screaming fans really help.
Free Kicks: The Bobcats had only taken fourcorner kicks the entire season before the match with the Vikings. They tookthree in that game alone. Laura Dieter said after the game that as they getmore corner kicks, they'll take advantage of them more often.
