A former Ohio University professor was sentenced to six months in the Wood County day report center on drug charges Friday, said a deputy clerk of the Wood County West Virginia Circuit Court.
Charles Parks, 64, who lives in Athens, was arrested at the Liberty Truck Stop outside of Parkersburg, W.Va, on Oct. 16, 2006, when police found cocaine in his hotel room, said Becky Lansdell, deputy clerk for Wood County Circuit Court. Police also found drug paraphernalia on his person, she said.
Parks was indicted for three counts of delivering a controlled substance and pleaded not guilty on Sept. 21. -
