Parents with children in tow showed up Saturday for Kidfest at The Convo. The event, which was held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., was hosted by Athens County Children Services.
The Convo turned into a playground for children. Tables were set up by local organizations for kids to make crafts and play games.
Informative pamphlets and displays about topics such as children's health and safety concerns were set up for parents to view. A giant inflatable jumping room and guest appearances by cartoon characters Scooby Doo and Shaggy allowed parents the option to park the strollers and take a breather.
Between snacking on popcorn and eating pizza, children participated in hula-hoop and limbo contests. In other areas, kids could experiment with different musical instruments, make necklaces, shoot hoops and have their height and weight measured.
